Three Little Things

I can identify myself as a budget traveler but that doesn't mean that I can sacrifice comfort just to save money especially that in this trip, I am with my mom. I am very happy that I found Seoul N Hotel and I guess I will come back again here. Let me tell you why.

1. Nice Room

The word "nice" is very broad to describe something so I'll let you understand that statement through the picture below:

It is a nice room, isn't it? I booked a triple room because we were supposed to travel with another relative. Anyway, we got a bunk bed and a single bed. The room is equipped with a television, water heater, mug, hair dryer, and a refrigerator.

One thing I liked most about this hotel is the separate toilet and bath. I considered booking this hotel because of this. How convenient it will be if you are three in the room and you don't have to wait for the other to finish his/her business to use the toilet or bath, right?

Not to mention that the sink and the mirror is outside so you don't have to wait either.

The sink is beside the single bed though. It wasn't an issue to me but it might be to you. But didn't cause any problem to me.

I liked that we can also open the window and feel the cold breeze. Check out our view. I can't complain with this view! Can you see N Seoul Tower over there? It's pretty cool at night but didn't get to have a picture. One night, I just opened our window and ate my left over mayak gimbap while looking at the N Seoul Tower. Aaaaah! So beautiful. I miss Seoul!

2. Location

Location is another big factor in choosing where you will stay when travelling. Yes, hotels that are far from subway stations are really cheap but it's not worth it! So my tip is to book a hotel that is near the station and walking distance to tourist attractions. In that way, you can save a lot of time (which I think is very important), money (because you're spending less on transportation), and most importantly energy (so you can visit more places).

Seoul N Hotel is located in Dongmyo area which is close to Dongdaemun. Not close as in it's right outside but you can walk a kilometer to get there. It's pretty close because my mom was able to walk to and from DDP from our hotel.

To get to the hotel,  you have to pass through an alley from the main road where the bus stop is. I like the fact that the bus stop is just few steps away. The airport bus passes through this stop as well.

Did I already mention that there is an E-Mart (convenience store) beside the hotel? And on the other side, there is GS25 just a few steps away. There are also a lot of small restaurants around which we only discovered on our last day. Lesson learned! Try to explore the area where your hotel is located because you might just find a gem!

There is a bank, a grocery store, and Ediya Coffee and a bunch of restaurants at the main street.

 3. Value for money

I guess you are wondering how much did it cost, right? I paid 13, 813.19 PHP or around $265 for 5 nights. This can go lower depending on the season or month of your visit.

If you remember, I booked a triple room so if you divide the cost to three, it'll just be 4, 604.40 PHP per head or roughly 920.00 PHP a night! What a steal, right?

But what makes me say that this is a good deal? Well, you got a buffet breakfast! Check this out:

They serve the same menu everyday. I don't mind eating cereals and eggs everyday.

They've got coffee, milk, and orange juice for beverage. They have strawberry jam and butter for your toast.

I enjoyed their frosted flakes and soup. I can't remember if it's a mushroom or asparagus soup. But it's good!

They serve sliced bananas, dumplings, sausages (which isn't my type), and hard boiled eggs. We ate breakfast here everyday and it was nice to fuel up your stomach before going out. At least it saves you energy from looking for a place to eat.

A nice, clean, and comfortable room with free breakfast plus a good location - how can you not say that this hotel is worth it??

Oh, but we did have problem on the sockets though. Only one electric socket is working in our room. Good thing I brought extension wires. The staff apologized through Kakao Talk and attended to my concern. They offered an extension wire but since I already have one, didn't bother to go out. They also gave me an extra hair dryer since the one attached to the mirror is fixed and the socket wasn't working as well. But I guess this is an isolated case. Nevertheless, we still had an awesome stay.

Before I forget, there is a rooftop where you can enjoy a nice view. A flea market is just few steps away from the hotel.

Did I convince you to book here? Let me know if you enjoyed your stay at Seoul N Hotel too!

If you're a budget traveler like me then you must be a fan of hostels and inns. Where you stay for your vacation will always be important. It'll be your temporary home so it must be comfy and clean! I spend a lot of time doing research on where to stay. Aside from being affordable and its proximity to public transportation and tourist attractions, the interiors and how my room will look like is a big factor in choosing where to stay. Luckily, I found Muiu Capsule Inn in Zhongzheng District which is a few meters away from Taipei Main Station, Ximending, and the Aiport MRT. Though it only occupies three floors of a building, it is still a nice place to stay.

Here are the three little things I love about Muiu Capsule Inn which makes me recommend it to you.

1. Minimalist Interiors
Muiu Capsule Inn has a combination of wood and white interiors which I find very timeless. Its gentle aesthetic especially when you enter your room gives you a relaxing feel and the comfort you are looking for after a long day. The minimalist theme extends to the size of the room. We got a double room which is around 4 sqm. The little space makes you want to stay in bed and get some sleep. Not to mention the cold temperature inside the room because the hotel has a centralized air condition. Also, it makes you utilize the dining/common area of the inn where you get to mingle with the other travelers.

2. Convenience stores and other shops are within your reach
Are you the kind of traveler who wakes up in the middle of the night to eat? You do not have to worry because Family Mart and 7-eleven are just right below the inn. A 24 hours McDonald's is also just around the corner similar to a number of milk tea shops, noodle house and the famous pepper bun! If you 're into coffee then cafes are all over the place as well. You won't miss your cappuccino from Starbucks because there's one a few steps away.

If you're thinking if food is what Zhongzheng and the neighborhood of Muiu Inn has to offer then get ready to shop some clothes from H&M because it's just at the end of the street. Your beauty needs will not be compromised since Innissfree and Etude House are within your reach as well.

Oh, I really did enjoy the whole street of Kaifeng.

3. Staffs are just a click away (they're also very friendly)

There is no phone inside the room but if there's anything you need from the staff, they are reachable thru Line, Kakao or Wechat. I like this a lot because I'm an introvert and I'm not that comfortable talking to other people. The staffs are all friendly and can speak English fluently! Hooray for that!

TIP:
If you are travelling with a friend and you guys don't mind sleeping side by side then book a double room for it has more space than of a twin room. Also, don't forget to request for room 1001 if it's available because it has a window! Ours didn't have one :(

If you're wondering how much did we pay for our 4 nights stay then it's almost 7,500 pesos or $150 USD.

I'd love to hear what you think about Muiu Inn.
